Adult Programs

We offer a variety of programs. There is something for everyone. Come and create, learn a new skill, focus on your health and wellbeing or head outside and enjoy our garden.

Classes

Strength & Balance

Nikki’s exercise classes are simple and easy to follow. There is no confusing equipment, but
you can make use of a chair for body weight exercises. The goal of each class is to finish
feeling better! The exercises are designed to create strength and build toned, functional bodies that meet the needs of everyday activities. Nikki creates a range of gentle and tailored exercises that are fun to do using concepts found in the Pilates method.

Fridays: 11 - 11.45am during the school term

$7 paid on a term basis - bookings essential.

One World Choir

Our choir is led by professional musicians Andrea Khoza and Annemarie Sharry who have
many years experience developing and leading choirs. The choir is lots of fun. The music is
dynamic, joyful and uplifting. No experience is necessary and there are no auditions.

Everyone is welcome.

Thursdays from 7.30 -8.45pm during the school term.

$15 waged and $10 concession paid on a term basis. Casual $20 per session.

Art for all abilities - Jane and Janis (

The Art Studio

Experienced artist Janis Morgan will help you discover your inner artist with a range of
activities using different materials. This supportive group is great for people of all abilities. No experience necessary.

Tuesdays from 1.30 - 3.30pm during the school term.

$10 per session.

Pilates with Claudia

Claudia’s Pilates classes utilise a holistic approach to exercise and include a specialisation in Slings Myofascial training. The lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals, with the aim of making you feel stronger, happier and recharged.

Garden Club

Our Garden club meets to share gardening knowledge, seedlings and cuttings. Guest speakers regularly do presentations and there are workshops on different varieties of plants, ornamentals and edibles.

The cost is a gold coin donation each visit.

Computer Literacy Program

The Building Blocks program will help you develop your computer skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. No experience is necessary and people of all abilities are invited to attend.

Patchwork Group

The Castlefield Patchwork group meets fortnightly on a Tuesday. Members share their
knowledge and passion of patchworking whilst working on their own individual projects.
The group is facilitated but essentially it is about sharing your skills and learning together
with others who share a passion for patchwork.

Tuesdays from 9.30am - 11.30am during the school term

$6 per session paid on a term basis - bookings essential.

Quilting Group

The Castlefield Quilting group meets on alternate Tuesdays. Come and learn a new skill or
add to your current knowledge. It’s a great opportunity to meet people with a shared
interest in quilting and sewing.
The group is facilitated but essentially it is about sharing your skills and learning together.

Tuesdays from 9.30am - 12.30am during the school term

$6 per session paid on a term basis - bookings essential.

Mosaic Bliss Art Classes

Keen to try mosaic?
Come along and get started in our art class for casuals and beginners. You will learn: how to cut glass with a mosaic cutter to create shapes, directional and non-directional techniques for laying tiles and glass and grouting.

$30 for 2.5hrs (materials additional)
$95 for 5 hour taster over 2 classes (all material, equipment and one-on-one guidance
included, making a 15 x 15 cm mosaic)

Chatty Cafe

You are invited to drop into our pop-up cafe to enjoy a cuppa and chat. It is a place to connect with others and form new relationships. Everyone is welcome. The aim of our Chatty cafe is to build connections and reduce social isolation and loneliness. 

Fridays: 11.30am - 1pm during the school term

FREE. No booking required.

Community Garden

We invite you to come and experience our Community garden. It is located at the front of
Castlefield Community Centre on Bluff Rd. Everyone is welcome. It is a place where you can
plant, grow, water, eat or simply sit and enjoy the space.

 

There is no cost. 

Playing Cards

Castlefield Social Bridge Group

Our social Bridge is a group for experienced players who enjoy playing cards. Research indicates that mentally challenging games (such as bridge) offer intellectual and social stimulation. This may help to develop memory and stimulate your immune system.
Please note; This is not a supervised group or an affiliated Bridge club. 

Mondays from 12.30 - 3.30pm

$5 per session - bookings essential

Expressive Art Therapy

Expressive Art Therapy operates creative group therapy sessions for adults  with disabilities. The program is facilitated by a qualified counsellor that includes activities ranging from art, cooking to gardening that is tailored to your needs. The program focuses on building confidence in communication skills, self-awareness encourages participants use creative thinking  in a fun and supportive environment.


No previous experience required and cost includes supplies.
